Mrs. R. Dorothea Domroese, widow of Frederick C. Domroes (sic) died at 8:55 a.m. Saturday at her home, 405 Meadow Ave. She was 80 and had been in failing health since 1963. Mr Domroese, professor emeritus of German at Wabash and former registrar of the school died May 15, 1960. The distinguished educator came to Wabash in 1919 and taught there until his retirement in 1952. Mrs. Domroese was born Nov. 20, 1883 at Indianapolis, daughter of Henry A. and Otillie Schultz Pintzke. She and Mr. Domroese were married Feb 13, 1915 at Louisville, KY. They started housekeeping at Indianapolis and lived there a short time before moving to Oberlin, Ohio. After residing at Oberlin for four years, they moved to Crawfordsville when Prof Domroese accepted a position at Wabash. Mrs. Domroese was a member of the Wabash Avenue Presbyterian Church. Surviving are a son, Ewald at home; two cousins, Mrs. Charlotte Benedict of Pasadena, Calif and is Margaret Bodtke of San Diego, Calif; and a brother-in-law Walter Domroese of Indianapolis. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Charlotte; two brothers and two sisters. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday at Bright Funeral Home here with Dr. John G. DeKruyter officiating. Interment will be in Oak Hill Cemetery.
